Dear Friends

Thank you all for your support once again, it is, as always, very much appreciated. If we were to ask you “In what way is the foodbank like the weather?” I wonder what you would say. There are times when the weather seems to change from one day to the next, nice and sunny and warm one day and then cold and wet. Well – we never know from one day to the next just how many households we will be delivering to. Our scheduled delivery rounds are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; over the last three weeks the number of households we delivered to on any one day has varied from as low as 6 to as many as 24. It’s a real big Thank you to our delivery teams for their good natured flexibility as they adapt to the delivery numbers from day to day, and an equally big Thank you to our warehouse team who get the food “parcels” ready for those deliveries.

What is a little more consistent is that the number of people you are supporting through the foodbank continues to rise, currently at about 25% on a rolling 12 month basis; on just one month in the last 12 there was a drop in the number supported compared to the same month in the previous year, all the other months saw a comparative increase. But whether statistics are your thing or not – what really matters is that there really are people in our local area who, for a whole variety of reasons, are in need, and the help that you are giving them through the foodbank really is making a positive difference to their lives.

So it is a big Thank you to you from Dover Foodbank for your on-going support, and do please feel free to circulate / forward / share / distribute the contents of this e-mail. And don’t forget – if you have any questions you want answered, please send me an e-mail about it and I will try to answer in the next week or so.

With kindest regards and every best wish – keep safe and keep well.
